Throughout history too many talented people have died while remaining virtually nameless. Then a family member or friend collects trappings of the artist’s work and voila…
The artist is now famous but never got to share in his or her own success.
Some people say that fame is a superficial level of success but for an artist having people see your work is kind of the point.
Painters, musicians, writers of all sorts, wood workers, or artisans of any craft tend to have their work disseminated after death. This is especially apparent with regards to poets.
Scattered about
Written on matchbooks
On the backs of old store receipts
And in volumes of notebooks
Going through the deceased’s belongings
A poet is discovered
My sister Jodie Slick is no exception to this, but her poetry is exceptional.
Yeah I have an obvious bias.
But I’ll let you be the judge.

I didn’t know that Jodie could write like this. I hope to read more. The only thing that could make this any better would be hearing her sing this beautiful song with her beautiful voice. She was an amazing singer . I remember watching her sing out in your shed as a child and thinking one day she would be famous. She always sounded better than whatever artist she was singing along with.

you wrote a catchier title? I ain’t saying your content is not good., however suppose
you added a post title that makes people want more? I mean Live Poets Society is kinda plain. You ought to peek at Yahoo’s front page
